My Favorite Hobby

          My favorite hobby is swimming. I would not exactly call swimming a hobby, because I swim on a swim team called NOCO Swim Club. It is a sport, though, and I would call a sport a hobby. Here are some benefits of swimming.

          First, swimming is a great way to get stronger, since you use your whole body all the time. However, you will need to be aware that your body will be sore. Otherwise, it is a great workout! If you want to swim, though, you will need to eat a lot. You should eat a lot of sweet potatoes, pasta, and other bread, for carbs. You also need to drink enough water to keep you hydrated. Be sure to include protein and eat a variety of fruits. It is okay if you eat different foods too.

          Another benefit of swimming is that you need to learn how to swim properly. You may not realize this, but there are right and wrong ways to swim. Swimming lessons can help you learn the proper technique, because there is a rhythm with your breathing patterns. Even if you do not think you need to learn, it can still pay off some day. I think everyone should know how to swim for safety purposes, but learning the right way is important if you want to be a diver, or an Olympic swimmer, or, especially, a lifeguard.

           Finally, swimming is extremely fun, especially on a swim team. I have made many friends, and my skills have definitely improved. I also love competing in swim meets.

           Overall, swimming is my favorite hobby. I love it, because it increases my strength, it helps keep me safe in the water, and it is a great way to have fun. Swimming is a great sport and I think everyone should do it.
