Week 1 History Essay
You live during the time of the Tower of Babel, when God confused all of people by changing their languages. You have found a group of people that speak the same new language that you speak. Now you and your group are ready to move. Where would you choose to go?
When the Tower of Babel was under construction, the people who were building it started to brag that they were the best and they tried to make names for themselves. God saw this and mixed up their languages, so that they could not communicate to finish building the project. They then found the few people that spoke the same languages as them and spread out around the world.
If I were building the Tower of Babel and my language was mixed up, I would travel somewhere where there was fertile ground so that I could have animals and plant crops. Where there is fertile ground there is water, from which I would drink. I would also go somewhere where there are mountains and trees to protect me from bad weather. However, there would have to be some desert or dry ground nearby, because that could be useful too. I would probably find this kind of land somewhere in Africa.
Altogether, this is where I would go if I was alive during that time. I think it would be smart to live close to fertile ground and dry ground because they would both be useful. I would also try to have mountains and trees nearby to protect me from bad weather. I enjoyed writing this essay for many reasons. I cannot wait to see what I will have to do next week!
