The Life of Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ, the most important person in the world, is what this essay is about. I am going to describe the birth, ministry, death, and resurrection of Christ. I will also give an example of why Jesus and his ministry/preaching were important to everybody of all time and age.
I will begin this magnificent story with Jesus’ mother Mary. Mary was a young, humble girl, as well as a servant to God who was engaged to a man named Joseph. One day, an angel came and told her that she was going to be the mother of the Savior or the Messiah. The Angel also told Joseph so that he would not be angry with Mary. They lived in Nazareth, so they went to Bethlehem to have the baby.
After the baby was born, an angel came to some shepherds and told them about the great news. They went to Bethlehem and visited the baby. Also, a bright star appeared in the sky above the baby in the stable that he was born in. 3 Wiseman, who had studied stars and astronomy for years, had seen the star and went to Bethlehem to see the new king. There was a prophecy that the King would be born in Bethlehem.
Along the way they visited King Herod. Herod was a cruel Roman ruler who killed anyone that he thought that might take over his throne. The 3 wise men did not know where to look for the new king, so they went to Herod to see if his child was the king in prophesy. Herod did not have any children for fear that they would take his throne. When Herod heard about this new king, he was furious. He made a degree that said every male under the age of 2 in Bethlehem shall be put to death. Joseph had a dream about this before the degree, so he took Mary and Jesus to Egypt to live until Herod died.
A year later, Herod was dead, so they went back to Jerusalem. The Wisemen had come then and given Jesus gifts of gold, murre, and frankincense.
Jesus did physical miracles as well as preaching two people who needed help or people who just needed to listen to Jesus. He made many parables, which are stories that teach lessons, for example, the sow and the seed. Some examples for miraculous physical miracles are whenever he healed the sick, sent away demons, healed the blind, deaf, dumb, lame, and more.
During the last week of His life, there were many events that took place. For example, Palm Sunday, or the Last Supper, or Good Friday. As you must know one of Jesus’s disciples Judas betrayed Jesus and gave Him to the Priests for 30 pieces of silver. The priests then took Jesus to the Roman governor Pilot for him to decide if Jesus should be crucified or not. Pilot gave Jesus to the priests, although he knew He wasn’t guilty, so that he would not be blamed either way.
The priests made Jesus carry His own cross to the hill for him to be whipped and beat horribly and then crucified. During Jesus’s crucifixion the sky had turned dark for a great amount of time, and there was an earthquake which opened the tombs from which live people walked out and reunited with their families. After these events, even the Roman soldiers said that Jesus must have been the Messiah. This day is known as Good Friday.
After Jesus was crucified, His body was brought to a tomb and protected by a guard. Jesus’ tomb was protected in case one of the 12 disciples stole his body and said that he had resurrected. Three days after His burial, Jesus had actually resurrected. He lived for another 70 days doing miracles before he ascended into Heaven.
Jesus is very famous today, for His birth, teachings, and for His crucifixion. Through Jesus, God shows His power and strength. He also shows that anyone can be or do anything through Him. God has done so much for us, and we should give Him credit by praying, and celebrating these holidays (like Christmas and Easter) with Him!
